saved from what?
You may ask, “what or who do I need to be saved from?”. That’s a valid question. Our homes make us feel safe. Our cars make us feel safe. But physical safety is not what we’re talking about.
“Spiritual safety? Is my soul in danger?” Yes. It is. Surely you know, understand and accept the fact that every human being dies. But our soul is not physical, it is a spirit expressed through our physical body. So when the body dies, your soul, YOU, comes before its Maker, GOD. The bible says, “And forasmuch as it is the portion of men once to die, and after this judgment” (Heb 9:27).
At this judgement, the final destiny of your soul is determined. All who are righteous, to eternal life in the presence of God, and the sinners, unrighteous, to eternal condemnation, to be cast in to the lake of fire.
Am I in danger?
Everyone is. God has kindly told us the judgement before we face Him. “All have sinned, and fallen short of the glory of God” (Rom 3:23). This is a stark reality, and not something we would like to hear. God has already told us, that we are sinners and will face this judgement. “The wages of sin is death…” (Rom 6:23). If you are sure that you will die someday, be sure that it is a result of you being a sinner, and if you die as a sinner, you will face the judgement of God, and the judgement will be condemnation.
Is there a way out?
Yes there is. God has not only told us what will happen if we die as sinners, but also made a way that we can escape this judgement.
“For the Son of man has come to save that which was lost” Mat 18:11
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him, shall not perish, but have eternal life” John 3:16
God sent His Son, Jesus, to die in your place. He took the punishment for you. God was pleased with this, and to prove this, He raised Jesus from the grave 3 days after He was buried. Now, anyone who believes in Jesus, God forgives their sins, and ‘adopts’ them as children.
What must i do?
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. (Romans 10:9)
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name (John 1:12)
So there its, confess your sins to God, believe that God raised Jesus from the dead, ask God for forgiveness and you shall be saved.
