America becomes the home of LGBT
- America, the best place to be if you’re a homosexual
Was reading this off the official Whitehouse’s website, on the President Obama’s civil rights stand. Being a civil rights lawyer for many years, I’m sure he’s seen the many facets of it… and what’s required to woo and win the American People’s hearts, especially the LGBT group who seem very dissatisfied these days. (why ah?)I’ve included some excerpts below:
Support for the LGBT Community
“While we have come a long way since the Stonewall riots in 1969, we still have a lot of work to do. Too often, the issue of LGBT rights is exploited by those seeking to divide us. But at its core, this issue is about who we are as Americans. It’s about whether this nation is going to live up to its founding promise of equality by treating all its citizens with dignity and respect.”– Barack Obama, June 1, 2007
In other words, its time we thought of LGBT people as equals – I couldn’t agree more. Homosexual, heterosexual, we are sinners before God. And the sin we commit stems from the same depraved, corrupted and spiritually dead nature in all of us. BUT, if all are sinners, making light of homosexuality, makes it more acceptable than, say, murder and lying which everyone agrees is wrong. So with this statement, LBGT are actually being elevated above what the bible says about homosexuality.
Oppose a Constitutional Ban on Same-Sex Marriage: President Obama voted against the Federal Marriage Amendment in 2006 which would have defined marriage as between a man and a woman and prevented judicial extension of marriage-like rights to same-sex or other unmarried couples.
This is nowhere near the idea of marriage the bible gives:
And Jehovah Elohim built the rib that he had taken from Man into a woman; and brought her to Man. (Genesis 2:22)
For the married woman is bound by law to her husband so long as he is alive; but if the husband should die, she is clear from the law of the husband: (Romans 7:2)
But concerning the things of which ye have written to me : It is good for a man not to touch a woman; (I Corinthians 7:1)
And a woman who has an unbelieving husband, and he consents to dwell with her, let her not leave her husband. (I Corinthians 7:13)
but on account of fornications, let each have his own wife, and each woman have her own husband. (I Corinthians 7:2)
In all the verses above, the original texts make a distinction between feminine, and masculine, the wife referred to as the feminine, and the husband the masculine. This makes clear that the bibles idea of marriage IS between a woman and a man. Removing this distinction is a step away from the Word of God.
Expand Adoption Rights: President Obama believes that we must ensure adoption rights for all couples and individuals, regardless of their sexual orientation. He thinks that a child will benefit from a healthy and loving home, whether the parents are gay or not.
Cool. This will allow children to grow up with the idea of same-sex marriages is a perfectly acceptable civil union. This act will only serve to cement this into the next generation. Exactly the challenge we need in our Sunday Schools, right?
The american dream may be dead, but its surely going to be the place to live if you’re a homosexual.
